ScienceDirect
About ScienceDirect
ScienceDirect is Elsevier’s scholarly publishing platform, featuring journal articles and book chapters across a wide range of disciplines. Unlike Scopus, which provides abstracts and citation data, ScienceDirect offers full-text content for subscribed collections.
The two are often used together: Scopus to discover and map the literature, and ScienceDirect to retrieve the full text.
Best Suited For
- Downloading full-text articles and book chapters.
- Filtering search results by year, article type, and access type.
- Setting up alerts for new issues of journals you follow.
- Exporting citations to reference managers such as Mendeley.
